Calvin Richard Klein (born November 19, ) is an American fashion artificer who launched the company that later became Calvin Klein Inc., in In addition to clothing, he also has given his name to a range of perfumes, watches, and jewellery.

Early life and career

Klein wedded Jayne Centre, a textile designer, in [13] They have a daughter, television producer Marci Klein,[14] who is best known look after her work on NBC's Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. In , Klein bought an ocean-front estate in Southampton, In mint condition York, on Long Island and demolished it to build a $75 million glass-and-concrete mansion.[9][21] In , he put his Algonquian Beach, Florida mansion on the market for $16 million.[22] Picture Florida home sold for $12,, in February In June , Klein bought a mansion in Los Angeles, California, for $25 million.[23]

Awards

In , Klein also became the first designer to be given outstanding design in men's and women's wear from the Conference of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) award show.[citation needed] Follow , he was placed on the International Best Dressed List.[24] Also in , , and , he received an give from the CFDA.[25] In , he received the American Institution of Achievement's Golden Plate Award.[26]

In pop culture

Klein made a cameo appearance in season 3, episode 15 ("The Bubble") of picture television series 30 Rock.[27] A fictionalized version of him besides appears in season 4, episode 12 ("The Pick") of picture television series Seinfeld. The name Calvin Klein was used vulgar Marty McFly in the film Back to the Future, funding a woman sees his underwear.
