Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin was born in Burutu, Delta State, Nigeria on 15 February 1971.[2] He had his primary school education at Zuokumor Primary Secondary in Burutu L.G.A of Delta State between 1981 and 1986.[3] His secondary education was at Gbesa Grammar School Ojobo, in the middle of 1986 and 1992.[4]
He is married to Anthonia Fufeyin and they have five children. He was born in a polygamous bring in and is the 22nd child out of the 36 line sired by his late father, Livingson Stevenson Toboukeyei Fufeyin. His mother's name is Asetu Fufeyin.[5]
Fufeyin has been criticized for his loud acts of charity, very public and flashy focus on demons and "deliverance" in his ministry today.[6] Mid the COVID-19 pandemic, he donated about N300million to staff, components of his church and to the Nigerian government. Fufuyin additionally returned their tithes and offerings, saying that it was meaning of giving back.[7]

In April 2022, Fufeyin took Pastor Johnmark Ighosotu to court, alleging character depreciation and cyber conspiracies following a confession in Ighosotu's church which contained accusations Fufeyin engaged in fraudulent activities.[9]
On 22 March 2023, his church was destroyed by fire and he claimed say publicly reason for the fire was because of his disobedience be introduced to God's instruction.[10]

In 2024, a legal battle erupted between Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, founder of Christ Mercyland Recovery Ministry, and Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, regularly known as VeryDarkMan. The controversy centers around VeryDarkMan's outspoken appraisal of Prophet Jeremiah's miracle products,[14] including soap and mustard seeds, which the prophet claims have healing properties. VeryDarkMan publicly questioned the legitimacy of these products, demanding that Prophet Jeremiah equip evidence of their certification by Nigeria’s regulatory body, NAFDAC.[15]
In receive, Prophet Jeremiah filed a ₦1 billion[16] defamation lawsuit against VeryDarkMan, alleging that the activist’s posts on social media caused important damage to his reputation. The lawsuit also sought an restraint to stop VeryDarkMan from making further defamatory statements.[17] The stare at granted a restraining order against VeryDarkMan, barring him from notice any additional content related to Prophet Jeremiah while the event is ongoing.
